LFW: bold color geometry at Roksanda

Posted on

It’s been a big year for Roksanda Ilincic, with the designer opening her first store in London’s West End and dropping her surname for her namesake label.

But you wouldn’t know there was any pressure from the easy-going, easy-on-the-eye Spring/Summer 2015 collection she presented Monday in London. As usual there was plenty of bold color sorted (as is her wont) into geometric shapes and placed onto double-sided bonded surfaces.

The sporty color-block separates Ilincic opened with then grew curls and lips (emphasized by the curved tube the girls walked through), before being joined by colorful modernist prints, and some chunky sewn-on embellishment. The final flourish featured sheer silk layers in black cinched at the waist with metal belts, and covered in bright, curved lines.

Shod in platform flats and winged sandals, the models wore their hair in sleek, glossy side partings with the minimalist matte makeup boldened up with some strong eyebrows.
