PFW: highlights from the runway soundtracks
Anthony Vaccarello
Right back at the start of fashion week, Vaccarello sent out one of the season’s hit collections. On the sound system? The stunning Tale Of Us & Mano Le Tough Remix of Caribou’s “Can’t Do Without You.” It was the perfect accompaniment to the clothes’ mix of modernity and romanticism.
Saint Laurent
Hedi Slimane is something of a kingmaker when it comes to rock ‘n’ roll bands. The Saint Laurent creative director is a dab hand with his musical choices, and this season picked another (relatively) unknown quantity in the form of Aleide and the grimy electro-funk delights of her tune “1, 2, 3.”
Kenzo
Carol Lim and Humberto must be big fans of Disclosure as once again the British electronic duo, were the choice at Kenzo (their hit “When A Fire Starts To Burn” played in the rain during the outdoor men’s show in June this year). This time it was the cool soul-house beats of “F For You” which were pumped out to accompany the Spring/Summer 2015 womenswear.
