Nick Grimshaw Announces Collaboration with Topman
In a world where the line between celebrity culture and fashion is increasingly blurred, Topman released their collaboration collection with Radio 1 DJ, Nick Grimshaw, on 14th October 2015. This can be seen as somewhat a controversial step for the brand giant, whom normally choose to work with new designers for their collaborations, but their choice will certainly give them huge advertising in the form of public attention – Grimshaw, affectionately known as ‘Grimmy’, has seen a surge of popularity since his role as a judge on the X Factor, where he has been received positively by the public due to his quirky style and enthusiastic approach.
The 20 piece limited edition collection comprises of pieces with Grimmy’s flamboyant flair stamped on them: scrawling doodles scattered onto shirts; a leopard print coat; and of course, a T shirt in homage to his pug Pig, whom the collection was dedicated to. The collection is one that perfectly matches Grimmy’s personality – completely bonkers, loveable, and unmistakably British.
