MFW: ruffles and florals at Blumarine
Molinari opened with sheer and semi sheer body contour shapes, with Van Gogh-like flowers embroidered over the silks. Those same flowers also cropped up as a print, and in a series of lace looks with delicate petal appliqué work.
As in her Blugirl show, the models wore flat shoes (a huge trend for Spring/Summer next year) — this time the choice was between metallic and black patent leather sandals. The girls ran the runway with center-parted loose locks, and nude makeup (another undeniable trend this season).
Colors were understated but bright, with plenty to catch the eye including a soft pink, summer fur jacket (lots of brands this year seem to be offering a globetrotting touch of winterwear within their collections for the warmer months). Some sparkle arrived in the form of some stunning metallic shift dresses and tunics, with pieces throughout worn with polished crystal-embellished cuffs. The final eveningwear looks were composed of silk column gowns, some unadorned and solid cream, others emboldened with florals.
