MFW: Bohemian and 70s styles among top trends
Bohemian and 70s styles
Boho chic will make a comeback in the Spring-Summer 2015 season, at least according to Milanese designers. Alberta Ferretti, Blugirl and Etro were among the labels that presented particularly hippie-inspired collections with airy and romantic looks. Psychedelic prints and bell bottoms were not far behind, as seen at Just Cavalli and Pucci, among others.
Flowers
Between Blumarine’s strategically placed blossoms and the showy, head-to-toe floral prints at Max Mara and Marni (just to name a few), flowers were clearly among the top motifs in Milan, reinforcing the trend seen earlier this month in London.
Original combinations of materials
This season, Italian designers decided to experiment. Surprising juxtapositions of feathers (MSGM), ruffles (Dsquared2), leather, suede (Fendi), denim (Gucci), PVC (Fendi), python skin (Giorgio Armani) and brocade (Prada) were seen on the runway, making for a very diverse, texture-rich season.
