MFW: a technicolor mix at Missoni
The Missoni family are one year on from a grief-stricken 2013 which saw the loss of a number of members of the Italian design dynasty, and the change in mood for Spring 2015 was palpable. The models marched out wearing bold red lips, their hair either slicked back neatly or wrapped up in colorful scarves that matched their slouchy yet slick ensembles.
This was a technicolor mix of the Missoni brand’s typical technical knit and woven pieces, starting with pastels, then moving onto richer greens and blues and reds. The eye-catching palette was presented in floral embroidery, abstract silk prints, and seductive stripes of color.
Footwear options included zip-up flat shoes and sandals with a slight heel, which all worked with the slightly masculine touches to the collection, provided by trenchcoats, half-buttoned oversized shirts, and sweaters slung over one shoulder and tied in place.
