Dior and Impressionism, when fashion meets art in Normandy
As part of the 2013 Normandy Impressionist Festival, this exhibition showcases over 70 Dior dresses paired with photographs and paintings from Impressionist masters such as Auguste Renoir, Claude Monet and Edgar Degas.
The vast majority of the paintings presented by the “Impressions Dior” exhibit are loans from renowned Paris institutions such as Musée d’Orsay and Musée Marmottan.
An olfactory itinerary, called ‘Impressions de parfumeur’ (perfumer’s impressions), will extend this artistic event in the gardens of the museum, also known as Villa Les Rhumbs, Christian Dior’s childhood mansion.
“Impressions Dior” runs May 4 to September 22.
