David Bowie for Louis Vuitton ad to be revealed this week

Directed by Romain Gavras, the short film titled “L’Invitation au Voyage” won’t be released until the end of the week, but Louis Vuitton recently let slip a short teaser video. 

Set in Venice, the film features the famous red and white striped balloon from the earlier ‘Voyage’ advert which starred Arizona Muse, some shots of the American model herself, ornate tribal face paint, a baroque masked ball, and a few snatched glimpses of the Thin White Duke. 

Gavras is famed for his often controversial music videos for artists like M.I.A., Jay-Z and Kanye West, and Justice (including the ultra-violent clips created for “Born Free” and “Stress”), as well as his 2010 feature film “Notre Jour Viendra” (Our Day Will Come).  

It looks like he’s softened his tone somewhat though for this latest commercial. The director also recently collaborated with another luxury company, shooting the black and white Dior Homme fragrance advert starring British actor Robert Pattinson and Franco-American model Camille Rowe-Pourcheresse.
