CORRECTION: Rent the Runway unveils 5-year anniversary collection
The 5Y collection is a celebration of all things Rent the Runway, which arrives five years after the company first launched with its innovative proposal: why buy when you can rent?
This luxury capsule collection is no different, with 25 pieces from some of fashion’s biggest names available to hire for either 4 or 8 days.
Monique Lhuillier has created four scarlet red gowns and dresses, Marchesa Voyage worked on four pieces in navy blue (including a slick jumpsuit), designers Mark Badgley and James Mischka stuck to gold and inky black for their three gowns, and their top and skirt, and there are more dresses and gowns from the Lela Rose and Christian Siriano labels.
For accessories, jeweler Kenneth Jay Lane designed two special cuffs and a bracelet while there’s also a trio of choices from Oscar de la Renta made up of a ring, necklace and earrings. Prices range from $50 to rent a Kenneth Jay Lane ‘Wisteria Cuff’ for 4 days, up to $800 to rent gowns by Lela Rose for the full 8 days.
