Jump rope with Tabitha Simmons

Candy-striped espadrille style shoes with woven soles and wedge heels skip over fast-moving ropes in a new video by New York City-based Tabitha Simmons.

Directed by Craig McDean, Simmons’s fashion photographer husband, a series of slow-motion shots set to classical music are interrupted by the fast-paced jump-rope display put on by the girls of the US National Double Dutch League champion team. Thudding beats drop and digital lines fall across the floor, moving slowly. 

The short film shows off plenty of the fancy footwork possible in Simmons’s footwear. Creative direction was provided by French-born Pascal Dangin, one of the fashion world’s most famed photo retouchers and digital artists.
