Autumn-Winter 2012/13 — One must always expect a spectacle of some sort at the Viktor & Rolf show; they like high drama and deliver it tenfold. This time, darkness descended as their collection, inspired by the moon, shone on all those watching. An array of baggy-slouch languid jumpsuits opened the show in an array of prints and colours; characterised either by pussy-bow necks, tight cuffs, nipped in waists or extended shoulders. Shimmering silvers transcended first, then, gold in the iconic loose-pyjama style that has been synonymous with all fashion weeks. It was both glamourous and romantic: black netting tailoring with velvet, slinky silks, and billowy blouses oozed class. Demure long and slender white dresses, juxtaposed with slinky chiffon while fur trims touched many of the outfits, whether it be a cuff here, or a collar there, culminating with full fur coats. Once more, Viktor & Rolf delivered craftsmanship, creativity and charm.
