Vogue Italia rounds up 50 models for anniversary cover

Always a highlight of the fashion calendar, the release of Vogue’s September issue is particularly important this year for the Italian edition, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary. The magazine took advantage of this milestone to bring together an impressive quantity of fashion celebrities.

Shot by photographer Steven Meisel, a regular contributor to the publication, the cover photo shows 50 famous faces. The cast includes iconic supermodels of the 1990s (Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, Amber Valletta…) and 2000s (Natalia Vodianova, Raquel Zimmermann, Liya Kebede, Mariacarla Boscono…), in addition to up-and-coming it-girls (Karlie Kloss, Edie Campbell, Coco Rocha, Jourdan Dunn…). 

Also pictured are nearly all the models who posed for the 2015 Pirelli Calendar, which was also shot by Meisel and features Adriana Lima, Isabeli Fontana, Carolyn Murphy, Anna Ewers, Sasha Luss, Candice Huffine, Joan Smalls, Cameron Russell and Karen Elson, among others.
