Paris haute couture: highlights from Alexis Mabille

Mabille’s show, held on Place Vendôme, saw the Frenchman send out 24 looks which indulged the designer’s serious embroidery and lace obsessions.

Alongside all of that fine needlework were some luxurious satins, fur stoles and headpieces, and astrakhan touches. The looks came in Mabille’s usual black, white, midnight blue, and purple color palette which also met red, burgundy and cream. 

There was a nod to old school glamour with the double-breasted button detailing that’s been popping up in a few places this season and a touch of Wild West appeal at the end with the tiered dresses belted at the waist.
