CORRECTED: London Collections: Men – what to watch for
The lineup for the Fall-Winter 2014 shows boasts a decent mix of innovative new fashion talents and the world-beating suiting skills from the home of tailoring, London’s Savile Row.
Burberry
As usual Burberry is set to paint the town postbox red. The London luxury brand has released a teaser video, revealing a few influences ahead of Wednesday’s main event. Expect a typically high-tech show, set to be live-streamed from Kensington Gardens on the brand’s website.
J.W. Anderson
The Northern Ireland-born designer is always assured of column inches and plenty of attention in the tabloids for his brand’s menswear runway collections, which mix in decidedly feminine influences with his signature bold asymmetric shapes. After his collection of men’s dresses and kinky knee-high boots for Fall 2013, and his halterneck and crop tops for Spring 2014, expect something fun on Tuesday from the designer, who was recently appointed as Loewe’s creative director.
MAN
A joint initiative between Topman and Lulu Kennedy’s Fashion East not-for-profit stable of up-and-coming talent, the MAN show on Monday will have some of the best new designers handpicked by Diesel’s Nicola Formichetti and fashion writers Charlie Porter and Tim Blanks. This year’s stars are Alan Taylor, Bobby Abley and Craig Green, all names to watch.
