ASVOFF goes to New York City

Founded by famed fashion journalist and blogger Diane Pernet, A Shaded View on Fashion Film is now getting its New York City debut. 

Hosted at Manhattan’s FIAF (French Institute Alliance Française) from March 14-15, the event (which is open to the public) is designed to celebrate the intersection of film, art and of course fashion. 

The weekend’s program will include fashion films by Indian designer Manish Arora, as well as legendary photographers Ellen Von Unwerth, Sølve Sundsø, and Bruce Weber. There will also be a Q&A with the filmmakers Mike Figgis (“Leaving Las Vegas”) and Jerry Schatzberg (“Scarecrow”). 

In addition, the festival has a new partner in the form of luxury giant Kering (the home of Gucci, Saint Laurent and Stella McCartney among others). Tickets for the events are available via the FIAF website: fiaf.org/fashion/2014/2014-03-14-asvoff.shtml.
