Alber Elbaz meets Minnie Mouse
After last year’s fashion-packed animated short featuring Minnie Mouse at Paris fashion week, Disney continues its love affair with all things fashion as Disneyland Paris extends its 20th birthday celebrations.
“Electric Holiday”, produced for famous New York City department store Barney’s was stuffed with some of fashion’s biggest names in cartoon form, and one of the most famous cameos was Lanvin’s Moroccan-born Israeli creative director, Alber Elbaz.
A new teaser video uploaded to the Lanvin youtube account Monday asks “Who is the famous Lanvin guest?” and those with keen eyes will spot the distinctive red-and-white polka dot of Mickey Mouse’s luxury loving lady-friend, Minnie.
In fact Elbaz has designed a Lanvin blue neoprene corset dress covered in sequins and jewels for the fashionable mouse.
“When I showed her two dresses, she knew exactly which one she wanted,” Elbaz told WWD. “She likes to show her heels and loves earrings, jewelry, colors and everything that sparkles.”
But that’s not all… On March 23, Disneyland Paris will be hosting its very own fashion parade and event with celebrity guests. Minnie will get the chance to wear her high-fashion look in front of an adoring crowd.
The full video is set to debut on Lanvin’s YouTube and Facebook presences later this week.
