Is John Galliano headed for Maison Martin Margiela?
According to an unnamed source cited by Page Six, the French label has already hired Galliano “to take the brand into haute couture” and the designer “has already hired five or six staff members for his atelier in Paris.”
A representative for the couturier declined to confirm the report, simply stating that “he’s having active and ongoing conversations with a few companies.”
The tie-up would mark a major step towards a comeback for the disgraced designer, who was fired from Dior in 2011. After some time in recovery, he designed a collection with Oscar de la Renta in 2013 and is currently consulting for the Russian fragrance chain L’Etoile.
