Dolce & Gabbana Accuses Philipp Plein of Stealing Employees

On Sunday, Philipp Plain responded to accusations by Dolce & Gabbana that he was ‘stealing’ employees. The German designer took to Instagram to reply to the company’s claims that Philipp Plein Intrernational contacted around ten of Dolce & Gabbana’s employees, inviting them to work for Plein.

The employees targeted were primarily sales assitants at the brand’s main flagship store on Via della Spiga in Milan. According to the legal document sent to Plein by the company’s legal department, the dispute involves his employees, Andrea Lanza Cariccio and Jaco Cuccato, who have both worked for Dolce & Gabbana in the past.

The two allegedly got in contact with the Dolce & Gabbana sales assistants to offer them job positions at Philipp Plein’s new showroom in Milan. The new unit is located in Corso Venezia, close to Dolce & Gabbana’s other apparel stores.

The legal document stressed that all the employees enlisted by Plein have strong relationships with a number of clients, which are considered “very important for DG, for loyalty and sales volume.”

In his response Plein informed Dolce & Gabbana that “this is a free country and everybody can choose by themselves who they want to work for”. He then pointed out that those who are happy in their jobs “don’t think about leaving”.

Plein then went on to write about his respect for Dolce & Gabbana, admitting that the brand had inspired him, particularly in his early career. He concluded the post saying that he had nobody to apologise to.

Dolce and Gabbana have as yet given no response to Plein’s post.
