Sergio Rossi Potential Buyers
Following months of speculation surrounding a potential sale, Sergio Rossi is reportedly close to finding a buyer for the brand; in the running are private equity firms Lion Capital and Emerisque, along with investment house Investindustrial.
There has yet been no official comments by Kering or any of the three potential buyers, however current speculation looks to Lion Capital as the standing front runner – the British based company has of the three the most fashion experience; the former owner of Jimmy Choo, along with operating AllSaints, John Varvatos and GHD.
Emerisque, on the other hand, specialises in sportswear and controls several brands including Marina Yachting and Henry Cotton’s, along with MCS – formerly recognised as Marlboro Classics, while Investindustrial’s pedigree extends to even wider circles through involvement with Aston Martin, Gruppo Coin, Perfume Holding and luxury lighting firm Flos.
Kering, formerly known as the Gucci Group, acquired a majority stake in Rossi in 1999, eventually taking full control in 2004 with Tom Ford and Domenico De Sole overseeing all new additions.
