Eva Chen leaves Lucky Magazine
Yesterday, Editor-in-Chief of Lucky, Eva Chen, announced her departure from the magazine, after just two years in the job role.
Chen turned to social media to declare her resignation, posting a montage of Lucky magazine covers from her tenure, along with an explanatory statement: “This morning I made the extremely personal and difficult announcement to my team that I will be transitioning from @luckymagazine in the coming months. The brand will continue on and I’ll be leading it into its new chapter. Today/tomorrow/beyond, I’m a#luckygirlforlife. Thank you all for your support on this wonderful adventure I’ve been fortunate enough to be a part of”.
Chen also posted a series of tweets about her departure, “It was an intensely personal/difficult decision for me to come to (tears were definitely involved). But it’s the right one for me right now”.
The reasons for her resignation have been linked to her recently-born daughter, wishing to spend more time with her family to raise her child.
It has been rumoured that the magazine is going all-digital, and last summer it was moved to a joint venture between Condé Nast and Beachmint Group, an e-commerce company.
Eva Chen is the first Asian-American woman to hold the leading role at a Condé Nast publication, and she holds a great legacy at the magazine.
