Proenza Schouler create exclusive capsule collection for Net-à-Porter

Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez first founded their label in 2002, but it’s taken over a decade for the first ever exclusive online collection by the boys to appear.

According to the Parsons-educated duo, “the collection was based on some of our favorite pieces from past pre-spring collections and riff on the idea of surf-inspired classics like the board short and the Baja pullover, but reinterpreted in luxe fabrics like leather and custom tweeds.”

The nine-piece collection, including a mini-dress and skirt, a jacket, sweater and shorts, gives fans of the brand in 170 countries the chance to own unique, limited-edition ready-to-wear pieces.

“Jack and Lazaro’s designs are loved by our customers around the world,” said Holli Rogers, Fashion Director at NET-A-PORTER. “We are so excited about this collection which is everything you would expect from Proenza Schouler — slick, cool and covetable, with a buy and wear now sensibility,” she added.

“Net-à-Porter was one of the first stores to carry Proenza Schouler online, so we wanted to do something special to celebrate their continued support over the years,” said McCollough and Hernandez.

Launched in London in 2000, Net-à-Porter was one of the first sites to bring luxury fashion online, and has grown into one of the major players alongside sibling site The Outnet and the menswear specialist younger brother Mr Porter

Proenza Schouler have had a dizzying ride to the top of the New York fashion scene. Awarded with the inaugural CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund award in 2004, they went on to pick up the 2007 and 2011 awards for ‘Womenswear designer of the year’.
