Edie Campbell bags first Vogue cover

One of the faces of the Burberry brand, and a regular star on the runway for Chanel, Edie Cambell is starring on her first-ever British Vogue front cover. 

Shot by famed fashion photographer David Sims and styled by Joe McKenna, the model wears some of this season’s sharpest tailored looks. 

“Vogue was the magazine that growing up that you really looked at,” Campbell told Vogue.co.uk. “It has always been aspirational. It’s such a farce that I’m on the cover. I remember looking at the Rosie Huntington-Whiteley March 2011 cover thinking, ‘I want to look like that.’ That hasn’t happened yet, but here I am on the front of the magazine. It’s bizarre and so flattering.”

The 22-year-old is one of the fashion world’s top new names; appearing in campaigns for the aforementioned Burberry, as well as Stella McCartney, Marc Jacobs and Karl Lagerfeld, Campbell has been a fixture on international catwalks over the past few seasons, starring in shows for Hermès and Hedi Slimane’s Saint Laurent. 

Alongside her rigorous fashion schedule, Campbell is also an undergraduate studying history at the prestigious Courtauld Institute of Art. She is the daughter of minimalist architect Sophie Hicks, famed in fashion and design circles for her spaces for brands including Chloé and Yohji Yamamoto. 

The April issue of Vogue hits newstands on Monday, March 11.
