Sibling’s Joe Bates Dies

Last weekend, the joint creative director of Sibling, Joe Bates, has died following a ‘long battle with cancer’ – the announcement was reported through Love Magazine’s Instagram on Tuesday afternoon.

The announcement read, « We are incredibly saddened to say that Joe Bates, one third of the designers SIBLING, and both a great personal and professional friend and friend to all who work at LOVE, passed away this weekend after a long and brave battle with cancer. »

Following on from the news, fashion industry personnel along with fans of the label have been quick and eager to pay tribute to the designer via social media, with a message from Sibling’s official account thanked the well-wishers for their messages of condolence.

Bates died at the age of 47, and built the label in 2008 alongside partners Sid Bryan and Cozette McCreery.
