Rihanna Releases Third Collaboration with Stance
Rihanna has released her third collaboration with Stance, titled Fenty for Stance by Rihanna, available starting today. 31 different pairs are available on the Stance website, ranging from ankle length to thigh highs, including toe socks and open toe looks.
As Stance puts it, “Creativity is the boldest rebellion, and no one rewrites the rules quite like Rihanna.” Her pieces offer a combination of sweet and sultry, with a hearty helping of punky rebel. One style, the ‘Spoiled Brat Anklet’, combines sheer lingerie styling in a sheer sock with athletic details in the striped ankle and sole. This combined style is repeated throughout, in lace ankle socks and sheer thigh highs. Open toe and footless hosiery were included in the collection, titled ‘Tip Toe Baby’ and ‘Sporty Baby’ respectively, meeting below the knee and at mid thigh, each featuring stripes at the ankles. More styles include socks and thigh highs covered with posters reminiscent of Andy Warhol’s pop art, and ankle socks emblazoned with ‘Ri Ri,’ bats and a ghoulish, green hand. In a video advertising the collection, Rihanna reveals that the inspiration behind this collaboration was, “a baby sport, baby doll, slash tomboy sport, all in one, there’s fishnets with stripes, there’s like sheer, with pastel colours…” the artists goes on, describing this collection.
As with her previous collaborations and collections, Rihanna has been featured in the campaign for her latest collaboration with Stance, posing among models while cuddling a pastel fur to her chest, or posing moodily on her own. The singer has managed a number of notable collaborations recently, including her work with Manolo Blahnik, and her Fenty x Puma collection released in February, and her rock’n’roll styled capsule collection with Emporio Armani back in 2011. Last summer, Grazia confirmed that Rihanna will be releasing her own line of accessories and later fashion.
