Miranda Kerr is H&M’s new face for spring
« We’re excited to let you know that Miranda Kerr is our #HMSpringFashion model! Exclusive photo preview for you! » announced H&M on its Facebook page, and the brand also released a mini-video of Miranda via its Instagram account.
Kerr replaces Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen as the face of the brand. The full campaign won’t be released until next month, but the choice of the Australian-born, New York City based model seems apt.
The Swedish brand is set to open its first Australian store in Melbourne in the first half of this year, with a second Sydney location set to follow soon after.
Competition is hotting up on the Aussie high street following the 2011 and 2012 launches of Spanish brand Zara and UK label Topshop. Last October Japanese retailer Uniqlo also announced plans to join the party with a debut store in Melbourne’s Emporium and a second Sydney branch also planned for early this year.
