Ermenegildo Zegna

Stefani Pilati’s shimmering metallic woven check was the highlight of this collection, which arrived in a series of stunning outerwear looks worn with chunky black boots. Other key design touches included skinny ribbon ties and military influences including webbing panels and army green colors. The tweed, striped and velvet tailoring was with worn with leather outerwear, while Pilati got his typical twist in with a double-cuff effect on trouser legs.

Prada

Miuccia Prada showed her men’s pieces alongside the women’s Pre-Fall 2015 collection. It was a highly restrained affair with nylon coats, silk shirting and uniform-style smock shirts arriving in neutral tones. The collection completely avoided pattern or print, apart from a hint of pinstripe on the inner linings turned up on sleeve cuffs. Mod-style three-button suiting (seen elsewhere this season) was worn with chunky-soled shoes.

Versace

At Versace double-breasted suiting was closed with metallic clasps, and gold hardware was everywhere from shoes to buttons, to zippers to tie pins, as well as watches worn à la Agnelli on the outside of the cuffs. Tailoring also included more of this season’s key check print, with pinstripes and a ton-sur-ton floral effect. For more casual looks, Donatella Versace’s boys wore knit leggings, monochrome patterned outerwear, cozy sweaters and sleek overcoats, as well as luxurious ostrich-skin loafers and crocodile bombers.
