In the mood of Dévastée: "The Aoyama Cemetery in Tokyo was the starting point for this collection"

Relaxnews: What is the signature piece of this Spring/Summer 2014 collection?
Dévastée: It’s probably a dress in printed silk, which we decorated with the image of the Aoyama Cemetery in Tokyo. It is in this place that we found the starting point for this collection.

R: What personality, historical or contemporary, could wear every piece from your new collection?
D: Not a famous person. A secretive personality, hiding away in Tokyo or in the Causses de Quercy [a French natural park].

R: A film, an image, or a sound: what would best represent the spirit of your new collection?
D: It’s the end of spring. It’s 5 in the morning, you’re in Tokyo and you’ve been awake for three hours. It’s daylight. You are in the Aoyama Cemetery. Dozens of birds are singing around you. The city seems far away. You look up at the Mori Tower rising overhead.

R: If you could give Cara Delevingne a new look, what would you propose?
D: Easy-to-wear pieces in jersey, and T-shirts. It’s sad when young women wear old lady clothes.

R: If you could design the costumes for a film adaptation of a well-known book, which would you choose?
D: It would be one of [French author] Chloé Delaume’s books. Because they have incredible graphic potential.

R: How do you think the luxury and fashion industries will evolve over the coming years?
D: From our position, it’s impossible to analyze.
