G-Star RAW to arrive in India
G-Star RAW, known for its innovative untreated denims and 3D constructions, will be coming to India in a new deal set to see stores open across the 1.2 billion-strong market, which boasts a growing denim fanbase.
« G-star is a true pioneer in the denim industry, » explained Sanjay Kapoor, Managing Director of Genesis Luxury, G-Star’s partner, who have also introduced Giorgio Armani, Emporio Armani and Bottega Veneta to India, as well as British luxury labels Burberry and Paul Smith. « Their wide expertise, from distinct styles to superior fits, is something yet to be seen in the Indian market… We are very excited to launch their entrance. »
With advertising fronted by model Lily Cole and Norwegian chess grandmaster Magnus Carlsen, G-Star RAW is undergoing an extended moment in the spotlight thanks to recent collaborations with Leica Cameras and Land Rover vehicles, as well as a capsule collection using recycled ocean plastic, fronted by Pharrell Williams. The debut store is set to open at the end of the year, with up to 30 locations to follow.
