Free People hunt down the stars of tomorrow

Working with IMG Models and famous fashion talent agency Jed Root, Free People hunted for emerging stars with an open call contest. The winners appear in the brand’s June e-catalog, which also features American supermodel Erin Wasson shot by Guy Aroch. Here they are: 

Photography – Jens Ingvarsson

The Ukrainian-born photographer lived and worked in Asia as a photojournalist for a number of years before moving to New York City to kick off his fashion career. 

Styling – Jill Mason

The Portland, Oregon-based floral stylist owns her own flower shop and also founded her own art-direction agency, HART. 

Modeling – Elizabeth Sawatzky  

North Carolina-born and now living in Frisco, Texas, the 18-year-old model is an exciting new face to watch, and one that certainly matches Free People’s own real-life approach. 

The open call is a growing trend in fashion, with brands including American Apparel regularly holding open castings for its campaigns and lookbooks, including a special request last summer for transgender models.
