New York bridal fashion: Pamela Rolland, Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera
Pamela Rolland
This is the first season Pamela Rolland has worked on bridal (her main line launched in 2002) and the designer offered a modern twist on the traditional elements. Classic fabrics including French lace, Italian silk and an embossed metallic organza were cut into a mix of gown and dresses with key features including the innovative detachable overskirts and trains.
Oscar de la Renta
The Dominican American designer served up a variety of shapes, both structured and loose, for his Fall 2015 bridal collection. The key styles included a broderie anglaise short dress with long arms (perfect for brides looking for a second ‘change’ outfit for the evening) and longer fishtail gowns with elaborate bows.
Carolina Herrera
Another designer known for her classic first-lady dressing, Herrera added a fun oriental twist to her latest bridal looks with origami hair accessories. Other notable features included delicate chantilly lace, laser cut appliqué work and long diaphanous veils. Sheer and lace overlays played with transparence and added a hint of flirtatiousness.
