Is John Galliano headed for Maison Martin Margiela?

Posted on

According to an unnamed source cited by Page Six, the French label has already hired Galliano « to take the brand into haute couture » and the designer « has already hired five or six staff members for his atelier in Paris. »

A representative for the couturier declined to confirm the report, simply stating that « he’s having active and ongoing conversations with a few companies. »

The tie-up would mark a major step towards a comeback for the disgraced designer, who was fired from Dior in 2011. After some time in recovery, he designed a collection with Oscar de la Renta in 2013 and is currently consulting for the Russian fragrance chain L’Etoile.
