Mercedes explores fashion with Quentin Jones

The latest in new series Style Profiles, in collaboration with The Coveteur, sees Mercedes-Benz examine the work and fashion inspirations of artist and illustrator Quentin Jones. Shot in her studio in NYC’s East Village, Quentin talks about the monochrome qualities of her work and the way her prints are designed to look organic, even when they’re digitally manipulated. 

She also picks out a few key pieces from her wardrobe and examines their significance. One is a tailored, black and white print jacket that she wore the first time she met Vogue editor Anna Wintour, and the other is a ring passed down to her from her mother, which had been owned and worn by Quentin’s grandmother before that. 

It’s part of Mercedes-Benz’s new series of Fashion Creatives films which debuted with a focus on fashion blogger Leandra Medine, known for her hit site Man Repeller. It’s all hosted on a special Fashion section of the Mercedes-Benz site, fitting as the German carmaker is, of course, the sponsor of some of the world’s biggest fashion shows, including the biannual New York Fashion Week.

The daughter of two architects, Jones grew up in Toronto and then London, before studying Philosophy at Cambridge University. She then studied for an MA in Illustration at London’s Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. Her work since includes collaborations with fashion brands including Victoria Beckham, Vogue, Kenzo and Smythson.
