TOTAL LOOK: BARROQUE
Reflecting on Sandro Botticelli’s colour palette the baroque trend that has swept the catwalk resembles the richness of the Roman Catholic Church as religious art (like fashion itself) was designed to move, amaze and please.
Alberta Ferreti
Similar to the interior of Basilica di Santa Maria and other luxurious Marian monuments the garments were draped in jewels and embellishments. Yet whether bedazzled by colour or jewels, prints or stitched lace the reoccurring theme of playing with texture, remained.
Dolçe & Gabbana
Another reflection of the Roman influence predominately the architectural symmetry was the obvious yet sometimes subtly symmetrical design throughout.
Emilio Pucci

The music prompts tension as a metaphor for the surge of a storm.

However, don’t forget to play around with texture through silks and wools then if your feeling extra exuberant go for a full on orange fur coat like Balmain has showcased.

A period that’s inspiration has reoccurred throughout this season is the Victorian era.

Bottega Veneta Dolce & Gabbana Emanuel Ungaro
Sophistication sashays down the catwalk with none other than the classic handbag shapes. The retro styles are always an investment and can be used in all walks of life. FUR BAGS
Diane von Fustemberg Etro
Fur seems to dominate the catwalk this winter, not just for the practicality of it keeping you warm but with designers striving to create alternatives to the conventional, its no wonder there is such a variety.
Fendi Alexander McQueen
Diane Von Furstenberg mastered modern colour with her bag by mixing of zaffre and Egyptian blue whereas Etro captured a bohemian vibe through embellishments, tapestry and black sheep’s wool.
