Versus Women Spring Summer 2016 – Lion heads and lots of skin might spring to mind when thinking of Italian giant Versace. Versus, the younger sister company takes inspiration from its older sibling but without the gaudiness or neon brights that the original favours.

Anthony Vaccarello is the driving force behind Versus, he favours black over colour and uses more subtle prints in his collections. Muted florals and monochrome leopard cut out gowns are worn beside leather tailoring and slim leg trousers. Toughness mixed with the fluidity of the gowns make a perfect contrast. The same prints were adapted and shown simultaneously in the menswear collection also.  Most notable were the denim and deep green wet look bomber jackets worn with the tiniest of miniskirts or jeans for the boys. Bold and playful, fun and glamourous, Vaccarello is in keeping with the Versace heritage.

With the collection available to buy online immediately after the show, Versus is creating a whole new vision – straight from show to shop, giving the term fast fashion a more literal meaning.
