Sonia Rykiel
Sonia Rykiel Woman Autumn-Winter 2017-18 – A distinct minimalism was proposed by Sona Rykiel this season, in a collection that was both artful yet sparse.
Essential items were matched together with a softness that gave the collection as a whole a very relaxed feel; a silk set was matched with a short, almost afghan coat, whilst an enlarged, bordering on pajama ensemble was accessorized with a striped clutch and feathered boots. Asymmetric knits with contrasting knitted embroidery gave a further warmth to the set, with midi-length linen dresses adding an element of lively jest.
The realms of imagination soon took over with an array of feathers clasped to necklines, dangling threads in a multitude of colours, and the appearance of a quilted jacket in a satin material.
Vivid tones were used throughout Sonia Rykiel’s show to create a collection that oozed free-spirit but one that also kept with light and causal elements to present a modest yet inventive artistry.
