Zac Posen
Spring-Summer 2015 – The devil is in the detail – a phrase Zac Posen took point in ignoring – in favour of immaculate tailoring and moulding of form in particularly well chosen block colour. Neoprene was warped into almost timeless gowns and trousers that many thought wouldn’t be out of place in Audrey Hepburn’s wardrobe.
Form and shape took precedence, with evening dresses transforming models into mermaids with skirting hems and jutting hips, to asymmetrical open hems in silk swishing down the catwalk and sleek off the shoulder cocktail dresses that ooze celebrity.
Too many colours out of the careful choice of white, black and red, and going too far into detail by using anything other than tailoring, such as print and pattern, would have made this collection not stand out as much. The decision to focus on the particular points of exsquisite shape and form was paramount.
