Oscar de la Renta
Spring-Summer 2015 – To the tune of stately music, Oscar de La Renta embodied garden parties and the epitome of chic and sophisticated with his gingham, lace and flower filled extravaganza. Summer pastels in pink and blue and contrasting black gingham in tailored crop tops, shorts and shirts were worn with lace flower separates which perfectly combined the prim with the sultry with cuts that exposed thighs and highlighted the delicate craftsmanship.
A recurring flower motif in the lace linked the first looks together, and then developed into intricate, doily patterns with scalloping along the hem. Cut outs at the hem contrasted with the more structured print and blocked colour tops they were paired with.
Another flower motif transferred from brooch into a repeating gold and silver pattern which shined under the light. Evening wear closed the show and brought Oscar de La Renta’s skilful tailoring to the fore with unique cuts, tulip gowns, layering and intricate embroidery combined with mesh and lace.
