Jason Wu
Spring-Summer 2015 – At first look it seems that Jason Wu is focusing more on how fabric and the body can work together in all sorts of different ways, which is a definite departure from Wu’s standard of constructed garments. A definite narrative is flowing through from SS 2014, where Wu seemed to grow out of his structured look into more loose silhouettes, but the difference between last year and this year is that he seems to have found a certain rhythm. His use of delicate fabrics to create a paradoxically loose, flowing silhouette with a distinct sense of ‘power’ is a force to behold.
With tailored Chanel-esque suits covered in an almost sun-dappling forest-like print leading on to crisp navy pencil skirts and glistening 90s-inspired evening wear that transformed the models into mermaids and all interspersed with stark white duster coats and evening dresses, it all combined to create looks for a refined woman, but one who also knows who is boss.
