J.W.Anderson
Spring-Summer 2015 – J.W Anderson’s collection today had a nautical theme to it with white and cream button down dresses, tailored jackets, trousers and skirts, black wedged loafers, and blue and tan wedged boat shoes . It seems that J.W Anderson’s designs were following his signature style of blurring the lines between the genders, as the notoriously masculine nautical theme became significantly more feminine. The female form was amplified in the designs through the synching in of the waist of dresses with wide leather sashes, the use of flowing A-line skirts, cropped tailored jackets, and V-neck camisoles.
Make-up was minimal and models wore their hair slicked back in simple ponytails, often hidden by wide-brimmed, navy hats, which emphasised the transference of the nautical theme to female fashion in the collection. Other details to be noted are the heavy black leather gloves occasionally worn, which were an amalgamation of the weighty workman’s glove and the ultra-feminine evening glove.
