Diane Von Furstenberg
Spring-Summer 2014 – “An unexpected source of renewal, serenity and beauty” the underlining pitch of inspiration for how Furstenberg wanted every woman to feel. Her high energy and fun loving attitude shone through her collection and musical choice (Robin Thicke’s, blurred lines) promoting an all round feel-good vibe. Opening the show was Karen Elson, who was just as charismatic as her ensemble: a 1950’s styled black and white checked wrap dress, made with silk and jersey fabrics.
Attractive prints with a subtle African resemblance dominated: colourful undulating motifs on matching separates, python patterned and cork print items teamed with cork platform sandals were defining pieces.
An infectious energy beamed from Von Furstenberg as she radiated down the runway embracing front row friends whilst everyone else smiled ready to dance with her, and live in her carefree world or at least live vicariously through one of her SS14 outfits.
