Alexis Mabille
Spring – Summer 2014 –
” Hyper glamour dressing, worn casually like a guy “, this is how Alexis Mabille, the French designer en vogue, describes his Spring/Summer 2014 collection. Inspired by the US icon Rosie the Riveter, the Mabille woman has a 50’s vibe with a slighty pin up style.
The collection is for the modern woman, playing with the masculine codes but being ultra feminine at the same time. The silhouettes are really structured but flirty, suggesting an independent and confident woman. The colour palette is strong and ecclectic: midnight blue, creme, mustard yellow… can be found on the catwalk. The show opened with a khaki jumpsuit which definitely sets the trend of the collection. Military hues will still be in next season, associated with statement accessories – headbands, belts and clutches- and a touch of red lipstick.
Like Alexis Mabille wrote in his invite ” Yes, she’s a bomb”.
