Spring-Summer 2013 – Fuchsia, shocking pink and an assortment of juicy, plush and vibrant colours, have been the highlight of London Fashion Week. On the opening of Milan Fashion Week, Gucci pertained to this, with an abundance of shocking pink separates and slick trouser suits. The new silhouette to watch is one with fluted sleeves creating a beautiful new shape. The sweet tone and jewel colours were plentiful: azure, cobalt blue, turquoise and yellow were effervescent. It was not just about the colour either, the Sixties shapes seen in London were extremely prevalent here. Flowing dresses, loose shift dresses and flared trousers were incredibly elegant. Roll necks were reworked with exposed chest and back through large keyhole shapes; they fell long past the hip. High necked maxi-dresses had large frilled sleeves or a cascade of frills down the back. For print there was snakeskin in green and blue with added glamour courtesy of the encrusted neckline. It was a luxurious collection in all sense of the word.
