Dolce & Gabbana

Autumn-Winter 2014/15 – Creativity and imagery are the key elements of this Autumn/Winter ready-to-wear collection by Dolce & Gabbana due to the offerings, in which they presented the two-piece matching sets, sheer dresses, ‘nothing there’ shorts and tunics.

My first initial thought led to royalty and the formal yet rich clothes involved. The boots that look like armour with the tunic two-pieces that look like jewels, the golden keys and the vintage corset over the sheer dress envisaged an image of wealth and possession.

The cuts and colours, as well as the floral and nature pictures emblazoned on the clothing are made extremely feminine. The two-piece outfit ideas accentuate height in pleated mini skirts and cropped tops give the body shape.

Although the line is made seriously, there is also an element of childhood and imagination, the owls and animals stitched onto the outerwear re-jog childhood memories of old sweaters but have been made casual enough with leggings.
