Temperley London
Autumn – Winter 2013/14
Alice Temperley has always known how to dress a lady and her latest collection is no exception. The designer revealed a series of ladylike silhouettes, chic outwear reminiscent of Hitchcock heroines and beautifully crafted work wear separates. The collection was tasteful and elegant to the extreme, it exuded chic and was held together by precise detailing and a paired back monochrome colour palette, with touches of metallics, nude and blue.
A definite highlight of the collection was the print work which was simply exquisite. Precisely tailored dresses were perfected with art deco inspired prints and abstract repeat patterns with a quirky touch brought by distinctly tribal aspects appearing in the designs.
The Temperly London collection was decidedly demure. Ladylike flowing swathes of luxurious fabrics were toughened up with embellished collars, sheer panelling and studded leather belts. The pieces combined classic tailoring, intricate prints and embellishment, which when crafted with Alice’s delicate touch resulted in a show that was understated and refined, but certainly no wallflower.
