Autumn-Winter 2013/14
Nicola Formichette was inspired this season by his mothers days as an air hostess and presented a show that took us back to the days of glamorous air travel. Nicola referenced many decades throughout the collection, starting with 60s inspired stylish and pristine designs and moving onto a distinct nod to the nineties.
The designer’s theme continues as he applied aerodynamic thinking to the silhouettes of the collection with futurist, dramatic curves that provoked thoughts of grand buildings or metal structures. One of the stand out elements of the collection was the choice of fabrics, the womenswear designer Sébastien Peigne expertly choose lust worth fabric like crushed bouclé and supple cashmere.
The collection was a perfect example of an everyday inspiration being developed and worked with to produce something unusually magnificent.
