Autumn-Winter 2011/12 – You don’t get much cooler than Givenchy; the fashion Goth’s favourite by Riccardo Tisci. A collection shown under floral arches of irises led you into the magical world of the jungle in which the panther dominated. Thus it was electrifying when the first model came out wearing a stiff peaked cap complete with panther ears. The panthers face was pertinent throughout the collection donned on skinny black blazers and pencil skirts. Gold chains were also a theme that ran throughout painted around necklines and wrists. Sheer see-through fabrics (so hot right now) allowed glimpses of the skin whether it hung from under stiff patent skirts or incorporated on a blouse. Skirts also came in PVC and velvet form with frothy kick pleats. Bomber leather jackets where paramount giving the collection an urban kick. Green and purple iris mingled around the panther or circled the illustrations of pin-up girls on sweatshirts. The darker side of the collection imbued the sophisticated Goth that Givenchy imbues. The lighter side of the collection embodied an oriental theme with yellow satins and A-line miniskirts. This collection was fabulous.
