Rochas
Rochas Woman Autumn-Winter 2017-18 – Rochas offered up a slightly more controlled and hushed lineup this season, diverting from the typical eccentricity fans come to expect from the house.
Bold garnet and caramel coloured fur coats conjured an esteemed 1920s style, with a slightly wrapped form and cinched at the waist to exaggerate the sense of eloquent antiquity. This was contrasted with other designs where covered figures and silhouettes were draped in bow detailing and shimmering floral brocade, adding a soft femininity to the grandiose feel of the deep-coloured statement coats.
Embellishments were a ready feature in this collection, from an elaborate ‘R’ detailing blazoned on clutch bags and belts wrapped at the waist, to a cuff of emerald green and black gems which gave a rusty coloured dress with a jeweled neckline and straight barreled sleeves an opulent finish. The quirky nature of Rochas was not lost completely, with an appearance of chunky metallic and printed platforms and paired with calf length socks, providing elements of the extraordinary.
The best was most definitely saved until last, with Rochas standout item dazzling like a festive star – a glittering gold tasseled dress which shimmered light from all directions as it delighted down the runway.
