Peter Pilotto
Peter Pilotto Women Spring Summer 2016 – Peter Pilotto, normally known for his signature digital prints and colourful creations, has taken a softer and more feminine approach to Spring/Summer 16.
Drawstring details and flouncy tiers are found on simple shirts and dresses with asymmetrical pinstripes paired with separates in denim blue. Cream kimono jackets look chic teamed with thigh split skirts with vertical stripes.
2D geometric shapes are scattered on trims and sheer lace bomber jackets with peplum detail look contemporary as sports luxe crop tops peek from underneath. Pastel shades of yellow and blue appear on most pieces whilst orange piping edges frills. Models weaved amongst the primary coloured nets which lined the runway in flowing kick flare trousers which looked relaxed and fresh in the most delicate Chantilly lace. This season also saw the debut of the brands footwear collection which consisted of peep toe heels and flat sliders in coordinating colours.
This was athleticism contrasted with breezy femininity, wearable and practical, Pilotto’s change of aesthetic is a welcome alternative.
