Mugler
Mugler Woman Autumn-Winter 2017-18 – Robust pieces shot down the runway in Mugler’s show, creating an innovative display of intense lines and cosmic cuts.
A one shoulder shirt with a triangular pad gave a futuristic vibe, emphasized further by the electric blue colouring and tight, diagonally pleated detailing. The bold shoulder was also seen in an ombré blazer with wide lapel, as well as a metallic, wide-pant suit; pleating was used to soften these edged frames, with a gold lamé skirt easing a leather trimmed, asymmetrical top.
Straight mini-dresses were balanced out with the repeated razor-blade shoulder; a plunging neckline giving a softer, feminine touch. High-waisted skirts in a mini-style were paired with slouchy jumpers with boxy shoulders and high-necked collar. Acid oranges were matched by star embroidery and a slightly dipped shoulder structure, signalling a truly galactic motif. Hair was sleeked back to let the physique speak for itself, with the chiselled cheekbones imitating the honed construction of the shoulders.
Building upon their renowned peaked shoulder silhouette, Mugler demonstrated a powerful and modern collection with penetrating precision.
