Moschino
Moschino Woman Spring Summer 2017 – Jeremy Scott’s classic kitsch excelled itself in Milan. Models were walked the runway as paper dolls with white folding tabs added to their garments. Two dimensional pleats, chains, belts and buttons replaced the real thing to create quirky distinctive pieces.
The accessories were a continuation of the playful theme. Props included cut out hats and towels with the obligatory folding tabs. Teddy bears were printed on dresses and purses and bags resembled packets of pills ready to be popped. Jewellery consisted of cardboard cutout gold chain bracelets, peace sign necklaces and hoop earrings.
Evening gowns in striking vintage silhouettes closed the second half of the show. One of which was a classic white reminiscent of Marilyn Monroe, complete with blonde curls and pearls. Some were short with voluminous shoulders and tight bodies. Others were floor length with exaggerated hips elbow length gloves in coordinating colours.
The hair and beauty was also retro inspired with bobbed hair, short fringes and flicked eyeliner.
